Important

When processing a renewable sale in Saleforce a fulfilment code must be added

This will ensure we can automate the contract into our billing system. Allowing us to fulfil our contractual agreement to the supply of the renewable energy. Without this fulfilment code we’re unable to identify the contract as being sold renewable energy, which we’ll then buy and assign to the contract. To apply the fulfilment code you’ll need to follow the below steps.

1. Complete energy sale as normal

2. Submit the sale with a fulfilment code under the ‘in the Quote Item Page'

Frequently Asked Questions

Bespoke priced contracts using our British Gas Business tenders team - BGSMETenders@britishgas.co.uk

Medium size businesses customers consuming 100,000KWh and over annually, on a single meter or a combination of meters.

The verbal scripts now contain a caveat to be read when a renewable bespoke contract is sold.

A bespoke price is a ‘live price’. A bespoke price needs to be request via British Gas Business tenders’ team

All tender requests should be sent in the usual way to BGSMETenders@britishgas.co.uk

You should now state if you require

1. A renewable supply quotation
2. A standard supply quotation
3. Or both a renewable and standard option

Generic - The same fulfilment code BESPOKE RENEWABLE ENERGY is to be used on all renewable quotations sold.

The price for the renewable supply option will be provided in the same way all tenders are quote and returned. There is an option to have both standard and renewable supply options quote for each customer.

Where a sale is agreed on a renewable supply tender, we request you input the fulfilment code BESPOKE RENEWALE ENERGY onto salesforce, to ensure we fulfil the supply of this renewable/carbon offset energy.

No. You must request a bespoke renewable quotation as per the normal tender process.

A bespoke price is a ‘live’ price generated at point of request.

The fulfilment code allows us to process the sale as being sold with our renewable and carbon offset supply option. To fulfil this, we require the fulfilment code to identify sold to accounts in our billing system and fulfil the contractual obligation of renewable/carbon off set energy that has been sold. Without the fulfilment code applied the customer will not be supplied matched renewable/carbon offset energy as sold to them.

Within the pricing section of our contract packs, generated and mailed from British Gas directly there is a legal clause that states detail about the renewable energy sold.

This is an add-on product offering and not a time limited offer and so will be available ongoing.

The tender form will be labelled RENEWABLE for renewable quotations, and within this tender form there is a legal clause insert into the contract on the form tab.

What else you need to know

Every unit of electricity and/or gas used will be supplied by British Gas matched to renewable certificates or renewable certificates and carbon offsetting projects to ensure that your business electricity and/or gas supply is backed by 100% renewable certificates or a mix of renewable certificates and carbon off-setting for the term of your contract. British Gas will hold the necessary number of Guarantee of Origin/ Renewable Gas Guarantee of Origin certificates as evidence of this supply and Emission Reduction certificates. British Gas buy independently-verified carbon credits from qualified and registered projects. Their current landfill gas extraction project is verified by the Gold Standard Foundation. Depending on the popularity of the tariff or for other reasons beyond British Gas’s reasonable control, they might purchase carbon credits from other emission-reduction projects not advertised at sale. British Gas will always do their best to ensure that the carbon credits brought are of a comparable quality and standard and they will use best endeavours to purchase enough carbon credits to offset the carbon footprint created from 90% of the gas you use on this tariff. However, failure to do so will not constitute a breach of contract by British Gas or give rise to you having the right to terminate the supply contract. In the event something changes and British Gas can no longer guarantee a renewable supply they  will write and let you know.
